If I were President of the United States of America, these are the priorities I see for America and the world...
1) Truth: We as citizens can not make the best decisions unless we know the truth. There is too much "spin", mis-information, and outright lies by special interests for their own self-serving reasons (selfishness and greed). If we know the truth, we have a better chance of making the right choices. By being deprived of the truth, we can not rectify things covered up because of their implications (The White House making private all executive info). We can not enjoy the extraordinary and magical world we live in without the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
2) Return democracy to the American people: America is currently an Aristocracy. The only viable candidates with todays politics are those with money. These people then get additional money from big business interests. Once elected, they too often dictate policies that serve their circumstances, i.e. the wealthy, and they feel compelled to pay back with favors those who helped them get elected. This clearly is not in the best interest of the citizens of the US. A good first step in returning democracy to America, is passing strong campaign finance reform.
3) Sustainable future: We are using up the earth' resources at an extraordinary rate with no thought to the kind of future that our kids and grandkids will inherit from us. Big business is the main culprit, doing whatever it takes to make short term profits. Government is close behind when they are repaying their favors by giving away our National treasures to big business. The long term costs are going to be extraordinary for cleaning up things like global warming. Melting the polar ice caps and raising the earths oceans by a few feet, puts most of the worlds coastline underwater and many of the Pacific Island nations.
